How to book a taxi from Jodhpur to Ramdevra
Traveling in Rajasthan is a culturally enriching experience, and one of the most spiritually significant routes is from Jodhpur to Ramdevra. Located approximately 180 kilometers from Jodhpur, Ramdevra is a sacred pilgrimage site dedicated to Baba Ramdevji, a revered saint in Rajasthan. Whether you're planning a religious trip, a cultural excursion, or simply want to explore this fascinating part of India, booking a taxi from Jodhpur to Ramdevra is a convenient and comfortable option.
In this blog, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about booking a taxi for this route—choosing the right type of service, expected costs, travel tips, and more.
Why Choose a Taxi for the Jodhpur to Ramdevra Journey?
While buses and trains are available, a taxi offers unmatched comfort and flexibility. Here’s why:
Direct and Private Travel: No waiting, no multiple stops, no sharing the ride with strangers.
Flexible Timings: Leave at your convenience and spend as much time as you like at Ramdevra.
Comfort: Especially useful if you're traveling with elderly family members, kids, or luggage.
Scenic Route: Enjoy the beauty of Rajasthan’s landscapes at your own pace.
Step-by-Step Guide to Booking a Taxi from Jodhpur to Ramdevra
1. Decide the Type of Taxi You Need
Before booking, it’s important to assess your requirements:
Sedan (e.g., Swift Dzire, Etios): Ideal for 2-4 people with moderate luggage.
SUV (e.g., Innova, Ertiga, Scorpio): Better for 4-6 people or families with more luggage.
Tempo Traveller: Suitable for groups larger than 6.
Make sure to choose a vehicle that suits your comfort needs and group size.
2. Choose Between One-Way or Round Trip
Decide whether you need a one-way drop or a round trip. Most people prefer a round trip, especially if they’re returning to Jodhpur the same day. Booking a round trip can sometimes be more economical than two separate one-way bookings, especially if the return is planned on the same day.
3. Explore Local Taxi Operators
Several local taxi services operate in Jodhpur. You can contact them through:
Phone numbers found on local business listings
Travel agencies based in Jodhpur
Recommendations from your hotel or guest house
Referrals from friends or past travelers
Local operators often offer better rates than national aggregators and are more flexible in terms of customization.
4. Consider Online Taxi Aggregators
If you prefer online booking with standardized pricing and ease of use, there are several national taxi aggregator apps and websites that provide intercity cab services from Jodhpur to Ramdevra. These platforms offer:
Transparent pricing
Option to choose car type
Real-time driver tracking
Ratings and reviews
However, local drivers booked through these platforms may not always match the customer service of traditional operators. Weigh convenience against potential communication gaps.
5. Compare Prices
Before finalizing, compare a few quotes. The fare typically depends on:
Distance (around 180 km one way)
Type of car
One-way or round trip
Whether you need the driver to wait
Road tolls and parking fees (usually extra)
Expected fare range (as of 2024):
Sedan: ₹3,000–₹4,500 for a round trip
SUV: ₹5,000–₹6,500 for a round trip
Tempo Traveller: ₹8,000 and above
Make sure to clarify what is included in the quoted price to avoid hidden charges.
6. Check Inclusions and Confirm Details
Once you’ve shortlisted a provider, confirm the following:
Driver name and contact number
Vehicle number and model
Inclusions in the fare (fuel, tolls, driver allowance)
Pick-up and drop-off location
Estimated travel duration (4-5 hours one way)
It’s also a good idea to check if the driver is familiar with the Ramdevra temple and nearby landmarks.
7. Make an Advance Booking
Especially during peak travel seasons like Baba Ramdev Jayanti (usually in August–September), taxis get booked early. If you’re traveling during these times, make a booking at least 3–5 days in advance.
Paying a small advance to confirm the booking is common, especially with local operators.
What to Expect on the Journey
